Job Overview

The Technical Associate is a program auditor whom critically assesses furniture and fabric against sustainability standards to achieve industry recognized certifications like BIFMA level® and ACT Facts®. Program certification allows companies to leverage their certified products in the market and confirm compliance to green building criteria such as USGBC - LEED, CHPS, EPA and various Government Purchasing Specifications.

The Technical Associate actively supports the Program Manager in completing client billable work, performing onsite assessments, ongoing program development, ensuring conformance with corporate and program quality control requirements, and other tasks as assigned.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Review client submissions for conformance to applicable standard(s);
- Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email, and in person including document requests, project status, audit findings, and conflict resolutions;
- Coordinate and conduct both onsite (if required) and desk audits for domestic and international clients as assigned;
- Communicate professionally with peers, clients, consultants and managers;
- Complete clearly written audit reports following program requirements;
- Support quality control activities such as technical report reviews, program document control; document and track client conformance issues; internal and external accreditation audits;
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the standards relevant to certification programs

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, science, or environmental field;
- 2 years’ professional experience in manufacturing or third-party certifications;
- 2 years’ professional experience in client management/customer service;
- Professional experience in both written and verbal client communication;
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to interpret standard requirements;
- Highly proficient at task prioritization, with the ability to self-direct as needed;
- Thrives in a deadline driven environment by completing complex tasks and deliverables on-time;
- Strong analytical, and critical-thinking, and detail-oriented skills;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Additional Preferred Skills
- Professional experience in Furniture or Textiles
- Professional experience as an auditor in a relevant field
- Professional experience working directly with ANSI/BIFMA e3 (level) and/or NSF/ANSI 336 (Facts) standards
- Lead Auditor/Practitioner status in ISO 9001 or ISO 14001
- Fluent in Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Hindi or other relevant language, both written and spoken
