Operations Manager to c£ excellent + benefits Penrith/Cumbria/Keswick/Carlisle
Our FMCG client has been established for almost 30 years and provide both services and products on a truly global scale. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced Operations Manager to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Northern Area Manager, the successful Operations Manager candidate will be responsible for the management of an FMCG "Feed Operations" function including assets, personnel and the site in a manner that meets the commercial requirements of the individual business unit whilst maximizing efficiency, service, quality, health and safety on a best cost framework.
You will be responsible for the achievement of an agreed budget (as defined eg manufacturing costs) whilst continually striving for greater efficiency, and will develop a site structure that enables the production and delivery of feed that complies with applicable quality, health and safety and environmental legislation whilst at minimum cost. You will also be responsible for improving leadership, team building and the empowerment skills of individual managers whilst ensuring continued compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental Law and Policy.
Able to demonstrate strong leadership and motivational abilities together with the creation of a team that readily accepts responsibility and ownership, you will champion the Continuous Improvement Programme and encourage a culture of engagement across the team, implementing capital projects for the site as required and communicating effectively with other functions to understand and ensure customer expectations are met.
As Operations Manager, you will own and manage the manufacturing factors to maximize finished product quality standards and consistency and oversee hygiene standards and the implementations of all procedures to meet the requirements of Assurance schemes and law, ensuring an adequate maintenance programme is devised and implemented as well as the distribution assets and team are managed to ensure performance target and budgets are achieved. Other duties will include responsibility for the day to day running of the production facility, organisation of personnel and the manufacture of required tonnages as well as managing site stock control and variances and the HACCP systems in line with company requirements.
